Refinery Operations Manager

The Manager Refinery Operations is responsible to oversee the operations of the used oil re-refining process including associated tank farms and utilities functions. This role evaluates plant performance, implements recommendations for reliability improvements and cost optimization, and champions initiatives in support of long term sustainable profitability of the refinery. You will be the main point of contact between Operations, Shipping/Receiving, Maintenance and the Laboratory groups. You will ensure health and safety, environmental, product quality, and production goals are met, as well as manage operating expenditures i.e. catalyst, chemicals, etc.   Responsibilities: Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times. Monitors, manages and reports overall production of refinery vs. plan Budget cost for re-refinery process chemicals, catalyst, supplies, utilities Manages the selection of hydro treating catalyst Participates in shutdown planning activities, process troubleshooting, monitoring and analysis of process data Participates in design, construction, and start-up activities for new processes and equipment. Evaluate equipment and processes to identify ways to optimize performance or to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations Key player in lines of communication between management and the operations group staff Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, evaluation and discipline of staff Ensures process operation within safe operating limits, compliance with all regulatory, permit and corporate EH&S requirements and ISO quality standards Oversee and participate in ongoing preparation, revision and approval of SOP's for refinery Other Duties as Assigned  Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline is required; Chemical Engineering degree is preferred 7+ years of Industry experience 2+ years of experience working in a Continuous Process Facility. Refinery or Chemical Plant is desired Possess strong knowledge of refining process equipment and systems pertinent to refinery operations Ability to effectively delegate responsibility and manage the work activities of others. Ability to motivate and lead 21 operations group members Strong technical aptitude with respect to refining operations Ability to plan, organize, make decisions and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision  Clean Harbors is the leading provider of environmental, energy and industrial services throughout North America. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
